How to Keep In Touch

0

Hello Students!

As many of you have noticed, we just put up a form online, where you can submit feedback about your experience at NETA, as well as things you would like to see happen.  The form is located here.

I also want to talk about the ways that we have to keep in touch.  We see many of you each week in class, and of course, that is the most important interaction that we, the studio and instructors, have with you, the students. Sometimes normal duties take up a fair amount of time while classes are in session, but we are always happy to discuss things and receive feedback outside of class (before or after, or during the breaks, etc.).

Outside of the online calendar, the best place to get a digest of the upcoming events is the email list [sign up here].  We generally send one email a week with a summary of news.  Occasionally there will be an extra message if have to update some info or have a special event.  If that ever becomes too much, there is an easy “unsubscribe” link at the top of each message.

We also have a Facebook page where we try to share important news, create events to which you can RSVP, and sometimes syndicate the content from this blog.  Become a Fan, and stay in touch there.  We have also integrated Facebook “likes” to many pages of the website, so this makes it easy to share information with your friends.

Finally, we will start to use this blog more to talk directly to you, and to respond to questions and feedback that we get.  Maybe we will even feature guest posts, from you!  For those of you who are technologically oriented, you can subscribe to this blog in your RSS Reader (such as Google Reader), and automatically get the content instead of having to always check back on this webpage.

Tango Suite #1 Art Opening

Some of you may be wondering about the tango photos we recently put up in the studio.  They were taken by Barry Zaltman, one of the local Boston dancers, during his many trips to Argentina.  Before Milonga Arrabal this Friday (Jan 20), we will have an Art Opening at 8PM with some wine so you can meet Barry and view the photos.

Tango Suite #1 was shot over a three year period in Buenos Aires.  The dancers are in performance and interpretively photogaphed at milongas or on stage.  Suite #1 hints at the variety of dynamic movements and still gestures realized in the dance form.

And check out the Facebook event for Milonga Arrabal – we will have a class, as well as the premier of Armando and Nuria’s new Choreography!

Guided Practicas this Weekend (Jan 14, 15)

0

Hello students!  This weekend, in addition to the workshops, we will have guided practicas on both Friday and Saturday.

Friday Practica 4:30pm to 8:30pm
Practica Villa Urquiza with Bryant & Faye from 5:30pm to 7:30pm

What is a Practica Villa Urquiza? When we go to Buenos Aires we go to a part of Buenos Aires called Villa Urquiza, which is a small neighbourhood where our master teachers Carlos and Rosa Perez run a practice twice a week. It is run at the Club Sunderland, which you may recognise from the famous Sunderland Milonga that takes place there on Saturday nights. In one of the smaller rooms on the second floor they run a practice where some of the best dancers go to get coaching. They run it a specific way. We will let you guess what we work on the most….but you should come and find out for yourself on Friday. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQNLiA6H0t4

Saturday Practica 4:00-6:00 with Armando and Nuria

And as usual, Armando and Nuria will be holding their Guided Practica, which happens on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month.
